Eighth house is the house of longevity. We can take any house and eighth from it will show longevity of that house. As an example, we take ninth house which is the house of father. The eighth from it will be fourth house. Thus fourth house is the longevity of father. The lord of this house is examined. We see the Navamsha sign occupied by this lord. Whenever Saturn and Venus transit any of Trines from this Navamsha sign, then father will have troubles. It may even cause death of father. In the horoscope of Indira Gandhi, Venus is fourth lord and Venus is in Libra in Navamsha. In 1965 Saturn was in Aquarius and it caused great humiliation to her father due to China war.

DearGoel Sir, I am an avid watcher of your videos on youtube and try to learn from there. they are quite educative and easy to follow. I do have a number of your books, which I read to get more insight into the Divisional charts. However, when I read your 8th lord blog on your website, I want to point out something. The example given of Mrs> Indira Gandhi's chart may be right, but the conclusion drawn seems to incorrect. As, with due respect, Pt. Nehru, the father of Mrs. Indira Gandhi was no more in 1965. He had expired on 27th May 1964. Also, the Indo-china war had taken place in 1962 and the 1965 war was with Pakistan. At that time Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri was our prime minister. Respected Sh.V.P. Goel ji, Pl. clarify that according to your method for calculation of the longivity or trouble or death of one's father, I found my fourth lord Saturn in Dhanu navansha and from there Saturn,( my fourth lord) should have moved into Dhanu, Aries or Simha rashi I1,5,9), but my father died on 24-09-1974 when Saturn was moving in Mithuna.On the other hand Rahu was also transiting in Scorpio at that time and was not found in any of trine to my fourth lord Saturn's navansha in Dhanu.Please guide

Pranaam, I have been reading your books on D charts since 2007...I am not too convinced by D charts as results ad predictions are not going accurate... nowadays when we have computers and softwares D charts have gained weightage...I have been learning vedic astrology for over 24 years now and the first chart i remember i saw was of my lt. grandfather...it was a long scroll almost 100 mtr in length made my an esteemed pandit from Varanasi....it did not have any D charts...but all the predictions that were there right from childhood to old age were 100 % accurate year wise....astrology is not a science...its an art and only siddhi and sadhna can make one predict accurately.

Moreso, D charts are very time specific and time sensitive even to the seconds in birth data...wrong timings can rule out correct D chart.
